Founded in July 1998 at its present location, specializing in BMW service and repair, AutoTrend presently services well over 1500 satisfied customers.

Our service philosophy promotes honesty, accuracy, and cost efficiency, through ongoing communication with our customers. To accomplish this, we place equal responsibility in the hands of our customers.

We are not perfect, but strive to be proud of our work in every way. We want to know what a customer thinks about how she or he was treated, and how the repairs were handled. We invite you, the customer, to leave us comments on what you thought of our service - and what we lack.

AutoTrend has 5 licensed techs, 2 of which are factory trained. We boast a total of 36 years of BMW factory training, and 36 years of BMW experience.

Don Katsumi

Sole owner of AutoTrend, which was founded in July 1998. Started apprenticeship in 1977 at a BMW dealer in the Beaches area in Toronto. Service Manager at the BMW dealership in 1985.

While Don was the Service Manager, the dealership enjoyed being number one in customer satisfaction. (Survey done by JD power for BMW Canada. Rating covered all of Canada.)

Rick Tan

Started apprenticeship in 1967 in Holland for a Mercedes Dealer until 1972. Worked for an Opel Dealer in Holland until 1975 at which time he moved to Canada. In Canada he worked at a Mazda Dealer from 1975 until 1978. Moved back to Holland to run his own shop till 1982. From 1982 to 1986, Rick ran his own shop here in Oakville. In 1986 he started working for North West Motors, a BMW Dealer until 1998 at which time he began working for AutoTrend.

Spring 2024

Hello everyone, as usual we are offering a spring special.
The following is what I think we should do to your car to prepare it for summer driving.

The prices are:
4 cylinder $245.00, 6 cylinder $260.00 and V8s/V12s $280.00.

Prices include synthetic engine oil, oil filter, injector cleaner and engine flush. It also includes any fluids required when topping up (excluding Diesel exhaust fluid). M cars will have an extra charge because of M engine oil prices.

This does not include summer tire installation at a later date.

Service Checklist:

  1. Perform an engine flush
  2. Oil and filter using 5w30 BMW full synthetic oil
  3. Check front and rear suspension
  4. Check all fluid levels
  5. Check front & rear brakes
  6. Check interior & exterior lights
  7. Report on air conditioning function
  8. Check charging system
  9. Check & load test battery
  10. Check wipers & adjust washers
  11. Check for over heating
  12. Check coolant strength & quality
  13. Pressure test for coolant leaks
  14. Install summer tires if on rims already
  15. Check all tire pressures
  16. Report on any service due
  17. Road test & report on deficiencies
  18. Check belts
  19. Add one injector cleaner to gas tank
  20. Check for electronic faults
  21. Check cabin and engine air filters

Just a few reminders,
brake fluid and antifreeze changes should be done every 2 years, oil and filter changes should be done every year or 7-8,000 km, whichever comes first. Gear oils should be changed every 80,000 km, and diesel fuel filters should be replaced every 45,000 km to remove water content.
